I have a thing for spicy foods. I literally put some sort of hot sauce and or chili on just about everything I eat. In fact, I often think that food is just a vehicle to deliver my hot sauce addiction. Yesterday I made the mistake of adding a little too much chile habanero to some salsa (salsa is never hot enough for my liking). For some reason I decided to ad 4 or 5 tablespoons to a 12 ounce container of salsa. The first chip I pulled from the container and stuffed in my mouth was pretty much all habanero. With in seconds my mouth caught fire and I thought I might have chemically burned my tongue. I immediately made a run to the refrigerator and poured a glass of milk. Slowly but surely my tongue returned to normal. Like an addict however, once my tongue was good, I went back for more. This continued until a steady flow of snot ran out my nose.
